Cubist Trinity: For this design, artist Jay Skelton has portrayed three iconic characters from DC comics: Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, in a cubist style. 

Together these characters are known as the Trinity, often compared to Mythological Gods.  Over time these heroes have evolved into more than just characters; they have become symbols and ideas.  Through the use of Cubism, they have allowed the recognisable symbols of trinity to shine through with the implementation of shapes and colours.  Additionally, Jay has employed complementary colours for the background to make the subjects pop, creating a visually engaging experience.  To further enhance the artistic narrative, the words on both end panels are onomatopoeic expressions borrowed from comics, adding a dynamic touch to the overall composition. 

Growing up in Christchurch and seeing colourful characters from, Cartoons and Comic books in the form of graffiti and street art helped shape the artist they are now.  Sharing that feeling with a younger generation would be an honour.
