The school has a proud tradition of excellence in the academic, sporting and cultural areas. Students are encouraged to work hard, to enjoy their studies and to be involved in one or more of the many sporting and cultural groups in the school. Although it is a boys' school, Shirley Boys' High School is willing to accept girls into its programme for overseas students.
