- Due to severe earthquake damage and poor water quality most tracks, boardwalks and toilets are closed until further notice. The dog park off Broomfield Terrace is still operational -

The walkway through Horseshoe Lake Reserve offers a close glimpse of a peaceful preserved wilderness wetland habitat. There is also a specially designated dog exercise area within the park.
