Mapu owner Giulio Sturla was the owner of Roots in Lyttelton. This little six-seat test kitchen is located at the back of what was Roots. You sit around the bar to watch Sturla cook, while he talks you through everything, feeds you and serves you wine.

It’s a fully immersive experience and very intimate.  It’s casual, so it’s like stepping inside Sturla’s home. Show up with six people to fill the space and it becomes your own private restaurant with your own chef for the night.
