Canterbury Museum
Rolleston Avenue, Central City
William Rolleston was Canterbury’s fourth and last Superintendent, serving from 1868 to 1877.
This white marble statue of Rolleston, designed by English sculptor Herbert Hampton, stands on its plinth outside Canterbury Museum. The location of the statue is significant as Rolleston was instrumental in establishing the Canterbury Museum.
