‘Chalice’ is an artwork created by Neil Dawson in 2001 to celebrate the new millennium and the 150th anniversary of the founding of Christchurch and Canterbury. It is located in Cathedral Square.

The solid steel base is approximately three metres above the ground and a perforated network of 42 aluminium shapes represent the leaves of native trees that previously grew in the Christchurch city area.
