A sculpture by well-known Canterbury artist Neil Dawson has taken pride of place in Latimer Square. The neo-gothic-esque Spires was inspired when the artist tried in vain to draw the damaged Christchurch Cathedral Spire from memory.

Dawson is the artist behind the Chalice in Christchurch's Cathedral Square.
