Takamatua Valley Vineyard
59 Long Bay Road, Akaroa
Enjoy the taste of Akaroa at the Meniscus Cellar Door. Here you can buy, or taste a sample of all of the wines available. They also provide a snack menu.
The vineyard is located on the south edge of Akaroa on the ancient crater rim of the spectacular Banks Peninsula. The philosophy of the vineyard is to grow grapes to produce wine that is reminiscent of the great wines of France to whom the Village owes its existence being settled by the French in July of 1840. The tension that holds the vineyard to the edge of the crater is similar to the upturned edge of liquid in a glass and is from which the Meniscus name has been derived.
Open from 2pm on Fridays through to Mondays (and from 10am on Cruise Ship days).
